Trulittle Scribe Hero (7-11)
Brianna is the 3rd of 3 children and comes from a family of gospel music singers and musicians who are outgoing, lively and extrovert. Totally the opposite of Brianna. She is quiet, shy and sensitive. Brianna-Kayla has inspired hundreds of little girls and adults in writing a book called Hey Black Girl showcasing the amazing achievements and inspiring stories of well known powerful Black Women. Brianna acknowledges that representation matters and little black girls need to see successful Black women in books and reading their stories also gives them more to aspire to. Since writing her debut book: Hey, Black Girl! her self-esteem and confidence have sky rocketed and as a result, she has worked with other children as a Literacy Peer Mentor helping, supporting and modelling tasks in writing workshops to research and write their own books, even her older brother! Brianna-Kayla's book features 12 of her favourite role models who include her mum who she feels epitomises love, Mary Seacole who embodies compassion and is one of Brianna-Kayla's favourite characters because she wants to help people by becoming a nurse one day, comedian Angie Le Marr who represents humour said she cried when she saw herself in the book. Brianna-Kayla also sent a copy of her book to The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle who she also featured and she received a letter from Meghan's Private Secretary on behalf of Meghan who was impressed to see that Brianna-Kayla had written a book and she was only 10 years old. She sent her warmest thanks and very best wishes and also said "It is such a wonderful achievement to see you have published your first book at such a very young age . You must be very proud."

One of her biggest accomplishments so far were to travel to Kenya, Slovakia, Bali, Malaysia, Dubai and New York. When she went to Kenya, Inspiring Vanessa was doing volunteer work to support the children in an orphanage, in Western Kenya. This made her the youngest volunteer to go out, which made her feel very honoured. She actually planning to go back at the beginning of 2019! When she spoke in Slovakia, She had the opportunity to speak in front of 1000 people and it was such an incredible experience. Other accomplishments include attending different movie premieres as well as presenting shows like the London Fashion Week in 2018, February and September!
Her goal is to inspire other children and adults to be themselves, believe and have courage to be who they want to be ...INSPIRE - MOTIVATE – BELIEVE
Favourite quote - made by Inspiring Vanessa "life is like a flower, so try and keep those petals on" - it means that each petal represents stages of our lives, once we were a child and that petal falls of you can't take that time back again, so use your time wisely.
