Ilhora-Lee Louison (Aged: 8 years)
Ilhora-Lee consistently shows resilience, kindness and creativity.
When she was 7, she started working on her Self-Development Journal to help children deal with their emotions and build a positive mindset.
Ilhora-Lee experienced a blend of emotions and feelings such as stress, sadness, loneliness, anger, lack of confidence, and misunderstandings when she arrived in England when she was 4. She could not speak English and she had to learn how to write, count and read. However, she has never hesitated to help or encourage anyone who feels down around her. Three years later, she had grown her circle of friends, she was able to express herself fluently in English and was feeling much better.
Despite these challenges, she showed great tenacity and embarked on a journey of self-development and entrepreneurship. Indeed, thanks to these uncomfortable experiences, Ilhora-Lee managed to gain many skills and qualities (such as confidence and eloquence) which allowed her to be inspired to design a child-friendly Journal.
This is why she decided to create five different versions of her journal to help and empower as many young people as possible. The aim of Ilhora-Lee's journal is to support young people’s development and help them learn strategies to improve their self-belief and self-esteem.
In order to spread her vision, she has been attending events to raise parents/guardians and teachers' awareness of children's mental health and personal development.
A month ago, after being asked what was special and precious about children, Ilhora-Lee paused for a few seconds and with a pensive look on her face replied "children are magnificent, they have powerful imagination".
